Brauerei Pinkus Muller - Organic Hefeweizen

This German Hefeweizen is obviously an authentic hefe but it has an incredibly foul aftertaste. This shitty beer is almost as bad as Widmer's hefe (that was harsh...sorry Pinkus). They have a whole line of organic brews that are imported by Merchant du Vin from Tukwila, WA. They should focus less on being organic and more on brewing good beer. It is a sad day for Germany when the El Jefe from Hales Ales in Seattle, Washington blows their hefe away. If they read this they would probably cry harder than when the Berlin Wall was erected. Lucky for them their pilsner was freaking awesome so at least they have that going for them. But when it comes to the hefe, stick with El Jefe. 3 out of 5. Don't drink it.

Ugh, I've had this beer and it definitely tastes like asshole. Good review.

Yeah but have you had their pilsner? Very good.

El Jefe. That sounds like the name of a columbian drug lord. I likes.

I know! Did you see the picture on the label? The beer is super good too.

Yah... I'd agree. Way hoppy beers with that awful aftertaste rub me the wrong way. WTF is up with the organic beer thing? Hops+barley= organic!! Just being overtly ignorant... I understand it... it's just a bit over the top for me. I have to get it all day long from my dad that works at Whole Paycheck... I don't need it from my beer too!

This beer was not over-hopped it was just skunky but I know that taste you are talking about and it pisses me off too. I hate it when my beer tries to tell me how to live my life.

I am always amazed by the nasty taste of certain ale. Yet, my boyfriend and dad love them. Do men and women have different taste buds because most dark or heavy beer tastes like arse to me!!

I think it is just personal preference and not gender based. I know plenty of ladies that love the heavy dark beers. I think what you are referring to is the maltiness of a particular brew.
