Fried Chicken III - Bacon Wrapped
I almost tried to make bacon wrapped fried chicken a month or two ago but I was too worried the bacon would come undone, ruining my dinner. Today I put my fears behind me and ventured forth. I knew that if I were able to successfully execute this dish, my life would be changed forever. Low and behold, I executed the shit out of it. Let's begin:
Run your chicken through an egg wash and then dredge in flour. Wrap your chicken in bacon as tightly as possible. Run through the egg wash again and dredge in flour again. Cover with a clean dish towel and let sit for about 20 min. Heat up some oil (not olive, dumbass) and fry for 20-30 min depending on how hot you can get it. I can't believe this actually worked but it did. It was super fantastic #1. The bacon was perfect, the chicken was perfect, and all was right with the world. Eat it.

Looks good. I was just talking with another blogger about bacon wrapped dates and how good they are. I said I would eat anything wrapped in bacon and was thinking of saving my twix bar for such an event.
Looks yummy, but heart healthy it ain't.
Personally, Stereos and Souffles is right. Anything with bacon is yummy.

Why the hell does it need to sit under a towel for 20 minutes? How can you tell if it is clean enough to cover dead chicken?
Lard would be a helleva lot better than oil.

I would be more concerned about the towel getting dirty from the chicken than the chicken getting dirty from the towel.

Oh yeah...that looks good! I've done something similar, but I rolled crumbled, cooked bacon inside a boneless, skinless chicken breast that I had pounded flat and soaked overnight in spiced buttermilk before breading and frying. Yumminess!

I believe that bacon should be a food group unto its own.
I think you may be looking in too small of a window thinking this changed only "your" life. This is the type of thing that changes the world. I'll be making this in the near future.
