I found this little place in my neighborhood and it only took me a year and a half to realize it was there after driving past it a million times. Since my first visit I have been there repeatedly as they have a stupid awesome rotating tap list and their food is out of this world. This place is totally worth the trip from basically anywhere in Portland. Let's check it out:

The outside signage of
The Hop and Vine is pretty minimal so it is really easy to drive right by this place without even knowing it. The building in the background is
Di Prima Dolci which is a killer Italian bakery. Best fucking cannoli in town.

Here is a view of the interior. Pretty classy joint. You can't see them in the picture but the tap handles look like glass dildos which is odd but enticing. The bottle shop (to the left) is small but very well thought out. Truly, an excellent array of beer and wine. However, the money is in the tap list. They get all sorts of weird shit and they rotate all the time so you can always try new and interesting things. If memory serves me correctly, they have six taps.

Here is a picture of my daughter eating some bread. I had lunch here one day and the food was spectacular in every way, shape, and form. Just awesome. Highlights include the bread, cured meats, and house olives and green beans. The owner is this super chill chick named Yetta and she said she just hired a real chef so expect the food to get even better, hopefully.

My friend and I came here after a killer round of golf this weekend and we sat outside and drank some
Upright Brewing Fatali Four. This shit was spicy but delicious. Note that it was served in the proper glassware. I love this place and you will too. Patronize it.

Everyday please!
Nice post but I dont think we would agree on the proper glassware part. We are all for keeping the drinking unpretentious and believe whatever vessel is handy is always the best glassware. After if we talked to the experts they would say Fatali Four is a wheat beer and should be served in a Hefeweizen glass. But those glasses are ridiculous and only exist to highlight the orange cloudy glow of a hef not any flavor.
Actually check out this photo of the instructions for serving Upright beer from one of the bottles:

Hell yeah!
All I am saying is that it would be a shame if it came in a pint glass. What glassware do you have at the Upright tasting room? Does it vary from beer to beer?
Cooking Asshole,
no the glassware does not vary at all, we have a pretty standard glass, it does not fit into a category as far as I know.
I say if you like a particular glass then that is the best glass. I usually prefer a Pint glass or a Chalice. I do recommend atleast pouring into a glass or you dont get the aroma which of course strongly affects your perception of taste.
At Upright Brewing we strongly believe in keeping it simple and removing the marketing and hyperbole from beer. Hence the naming of our beers Four, Five, Six and Seven, thus leaving the beers alone to speak for themselves without clever names. Though we dont apply this rule to the special beers which we have fun with naming.
Speaking for myself and not for the brewery I think the Pint glass is as fine a vessel to serve beer in as any. It looks good, is a classic, allows for pouring a nice head which promotes the aroma and gives you a good sense of the color and clarity of the beer.
If you dont like a pint glass then hell yeah you should not use it.
It just annoys me if people try to tell me a certain beer should not be poured in a certain glass. Who came up with this idea that specific beers have to be in specific glassware? I dont know the answer to that but I expect some marketing guy or brewery rep, not a brewer. Pretty sure in the 1900's the monks were not telling people to pour specific beers in a tulip, snifter or chalice.
Thanks for the review of this WINE shop. I'm a tad concerned about the tap/dildo reference, but am choosing to ignore.
Thanks for your input on this BEER store.
